Las Vegas is more than The Strip and gaming. Almost 1.5 million people call Southern Nevada home and enjoy the benefits of the fastest growing city in the U.S.

Southern Nevada's climate is one of the most attractive features for new residents. Averaging 294 days of sunshine a year, it's difficult to have a bad day for golfing, hiking, or boating.

Recreational activities include:

  • Red Rock Canyon: Located 20 miles west of Las Vegas, Red Rock offers a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing.

  • Mount Charleston: A favorite for those wanting to take a break from the warmer tempertures of the Las Vegas Valley. At 6,500 feet, Mount Charleston offers skiing and snowboarding in winter, hiking in summer, and is a great place to see the leaves change in the fall.

  • Lake Mead: The perfect place to enjoy Southern Nevada's sunshine. From boating to jetskiing, swimming to fishing, the Lake is a great place to cool off.
