EN CARE
(Emergency Nurses Canceling Alcohol related Emergencies)
A presentation sponsored by the Emergency Nurse Association to teach the results of drinking and driving and unsafe motor vehicle practices. UMC has received a grant from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety to provide this program to Clark County High Schools and Middle Schools. To schedule a program at your school call 383-2092.

TAKE CARE
This program targets driver and pedestrian safety and medication use for older adults.

TRAUMAROO
Sponsored by the American Trauma Society, this program focuses on bicycle, traffic, playground, and motor vehicle safety for elementary school children.

LEARNING TO CARE
Sponsored by the Emergency Nurses Association, this class is designed to teach elementary school students about alcohol and drug awareness.

CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY
Trauma remains the number one cause of death in children over the age of two. To help prevent unnecessary injuries to children, UMC has partnered with the Clark County SafeKids Coalition and the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety to provide car seats for any child in need who is treated at The Trauma Center or the Children’s Emergency Department. Over 20 UMC personnel have attended training sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to educate parents on correct use of car seats and assure proper installation in their car.
